Simple rules for using MorselMetrics
Operator: Jonathan Morris, operating MorselMetrics in Australia.
Last updated: 5 October 2026.
These Terms apply when you use MorselMetrics. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms. You can browse published recipes without an account and create a free account to save your own recipes.
What MorselMetrics provides
MorselMetrics provides food-composition, recipe-analysis and nutrition-reference tools. Results depend on the selected food records, quantities, preparation assumptions, serving information and source data available to the application.
Your account
You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping your sign-in credentials reasonably secure and using the service lawfully. Do not attempt to access another person's account or data, bypass access controls, abuse public endpoints, interfere with the service, or use MorselMetrics to distribute unlawful or harmful material.
If you are under 18, use MorselMetrics with the involvement of a parent or guardian, particularly before storing personal information or making significant dietary decisions.
Your recipes and content
You keep ownership of recipes, notes and other content you submit. You give MorselMetrics only the permission reasonably needed to store, process, display, back up and transmit that content so the service can work for you. You are responsible for having the right to submit content you upload or save.
Nutrition information is not individual medical care
MorselMetrics is an information and tracking tool. It does not diagnose disease, prescribe treatment, replace a doctor or dietitian, provide emergency medical services, or guarantee that a food entry or nutrient calculation is perfect.
Food composition varies with variety, brand, preparation, storage and cooking, and source databases can contain missing or estimated values. A missing nutrient value does not necessarily mean the nutrient is absent. Australian/New Zealand nutrient reference values are population reference standards, not an individual prescription.
Seek appropriately qualified advice when decisions involve diagnosed conditions, pregnancy, breastfeeding, eating disorders, significant food allergy, medication/nutrient interactions, suspected deficiency or toxicity, therapeutic diets or major dietary changes. See the Nutrition & medical disclaimer.
Service availability and changes
MorselMetrics may change, add, remove or temporarily suspend features for maintenance, security, legal or product reasons. MorselMetrics does not promise uninterrupted availability. Reasonable efforts will be made not to destroy or remove user data unnecessarily, but you should keep an export or other backup of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Plans and payments
Free remains available. Where Pro subscriptions are open, the following terms apply in addition to these Terms of Use.
Subscription, cancellation and refunds
Current availability, price and automation allowance are shown on the plans page and confirmed before checkout. Existing subscriptions retain their agreed terms; view the amount and next billing date in Manage subscription.
Eligible accounts can start one 7-day free trial. Card details are collected securely by Stripe before the trial starts. There is no subscription charge during the trial; the monthly price shown at checkout is charged automatically when it ends unless you cancel beforehand. A temporary card verification hold may appear. The trial end date is shown in Account. Cancel using Cancel trial before first charge or Manage subscription; a trial scheduled to cancel retains access until its end. A trial cannot be restarted, and previous subscribers are not eligible for another introductory trial.
Cancel from Account → Manage subscription before your next renewal. Cancellation stops future renewals; paid access continues to the end of the paid period. Your recipes, household profiles and saved plans are retained when paid access ends, subject to the normal data-retention policy. Any separately granted account access remains in place; otherwise, Free plan limits apply to new work.
If a payment fails, update your payment details in Manage subscription. Stripe may retry the payment. Paid features can become unavailable when your confirmed paid period and any communicated grace period end; your account and saved data remain available.
For a change of mind, cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period without a partial-period refund. This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including remedies where services do not meet applicable consumer guarantees. Contact us about an incorrect charge, a service problem or a refund request so we can review it.
Deleting your account cancels its subscription before deletion completes and ends access immediately. It does not automatically issue a refund or erase records that must be retained for accounting or legal purposes.
Price changes do not automatically move existing subscribers to a new price. Any proposed change to your subscription price will be communicated before it takes effect, with an opportunity to cancel.
Billing access belongs to the account holder. Updating the payment method is available in Manage subscription. To transfer a household to another account holder or recover billing access, contact support; a card or invoice history is never transferred merely by adding a household profile.

Intellectual property
The MorselMetrics application, branding, original software and original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party datasets and materials remain subject to their own licences and attribution requirements. Food-composition data sources and licensing information are described on the Data & methods page.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or another applicable law.
Responsibility and limitations
To the extent permitted by law, MorselMetrics is provided for its stated informational and product purposes and is not responsible for losses caused by misuse of the service, unauthorised access caused by a user's failure to protect their credentials, or reliance on nutrition estimates as a substitute for professional care. This paragraph does not remove rights that the law says cannot be excluded.
Suspension or termination
Access may be restricted or terminated where reasonably necessary for security, unlawful use, serious abuse of the service, material breach of these Terms or legal compliance. You can also delete your own account from the Account page when deletion is configured.
Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated as MorselMetrics changes. Material changes affecting account users should be presented clearly before they take effect where appropriate. The “Last updated” date above identifies the current version.
Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by applicable Australian law, subject to any mandatory rights or jurisdiction rules that apply to you. Questions can be sent through the MorselMetrics contact form.
